Psalm 23: 6 part 3
We have all heard this verse so many times either in church, in some book or even in movies where it seems to be quoted a lot, especially in some dramatic scene where something bad is about to happen to the hero. Let’s take a closer look at Psalm 23 and what it has to offer. If we begin to break this Psalm down there are many enlightening truths that will empower us as we strive to be more like Jesus and more effective in our daily walk.
Let’s finish up Psalm 23 by looking at the last part of verse 6.
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
So many of us wonder what the future holds. What tomorrow brings. I can’t answer what the day to day will bring for you but I do know that for those that have relationship with God you have the promise to dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
That is amazing to me when you stop to think just how short our lives on earth truly are. The 60-100 years we live here sometimes seem so long but in reality they are very short. They go by so fast. Just seems like yesterday I was in high school but that was 25 years ago. Yes life goes by very quickly and there seem to be no guarantees until we trust our lives to God and allow Him through biblical principles that He established to bless us, position us for greatness.
We are created in His image and if we will accept Him as Lord and Savior and trust Him will all of our heart than anything is possible and in the midst of our journey we can hang on to the fact that in the end we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Forever with the King of kings. Every day for eternity in His presence. How amazing and glorious that will be.
My prayer for you as our study of Psalm 23 comes to a close is that you will let go of the things that have been keeping you from God and choose Him over what the world has to offer. For some of you the choice was made long ago but somewhere along the way you lost your passion for the things of God. Let today be the day that you are set on fire again with passion for Him. He has been calling you to go to the next level. How long will you run away from Him? How long will you shy away from the greatness He placed inside of you.
I don’t care what you have done. I don’t care what others have said about you. All I care about is that He sent His son to die for you that you might live your dreams and dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
